Team Of The Weekend

Across Europe's Top Five Leagues (ie: England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France) here are my picks for this week's Phagocyte's Eleven highlighting their outstanding performances over the weekend (From Friday through to Monday);

Michele Di Gregorio (GK) - 8.9

On a night where Monza needed their shotstopper to come big for them, he indeed came to the party. Gregorio's 7 saves helped the Biancorossi earned what was just their second win of the season with a slim one nil victory away to Sassuolo. He also ended the game with 15 long balls and a 95% pass accuracy.

Juanlu Sanchez (RB) - 8.5

The young Spanish fullback played his heart out in a game against a resilient Barcelona attack. Although he was at the wrong end of the scoreline, a combative performance saw him make a game-high 3 tackles. He also won his side a foul and finished the game with a 70% pass accuracy.

Mathías Olivera (LB) - 8.5

Olivera made the left flank his in Napoli's dominant win at Lecce. The Uruguayan was instrumental on the day for the Gli Azzurris attempting a total of 9 tackles and 2 interceptions. 34 of his 43 pass were completed earning him a pass accuracy of 79%.

Levi Colwill (CB) - 8.7

Colwill continued his impressive start to life as a full time Chelsea player in their 0-2 win over Fulham at the Craven Cottage. A sublime cross by him ended up assisting what will be Mudryk's first Chelsea goal. He also made 3 tackles and one interception ending the game with an 81% pass accuracy.

Yunis Abdelhamid (CB) - 8.5

The huge Moroccan defender helped Reims compound more misery on Olmpique Lyon's season when they beat them by two goals to nil. On top of his goal which secured the victory, Abdelhamid won 3 aerial duels (most in the match) and finished the game with an impressive 89% pass accuracy.

Jude Bellingham (CM) - 9.0

The fairytale start to life in Spain goes on for the English midfielder. In addition his goal, Bellingham assisted Tchouameni with a beautiful Modric-esque trivella pass and made 2 successful dribbles, the most in the game.

Arko Jerome Adams (LM) - 9.5

Arko Adams had a memorable game in Montpelier's 0-3 thrashing of Lorient. He had a game-high of 5 attempts at goal with 4 of them on target and a brace to show for it. He again won 5 aerial duels and 3 fouls both also being game-highs.

Deniz Undaz (RM) - 8.0

With just 28 minutes of the game played, Undaz proved to be the catalyst for the Die Rotens in their win away to Cologne. The German climbed off the bench to bag a brace and give Stuttgart their fifth win of the season to move up second on the Bundesliga table.

Lautaro Martinez (SS) - 9.7

Another substitute stole the show in Italy as Nerazzurris captain Martinez came on in the 55th minute to score a haul (4 goals) as Inter beat Salernitana. All of the Argentine's 5 shot attempts at goal were on target in which he scored 4 of them.

Luis Suarez Charris (SS) - 9.5

UD Almeria were denied what would've have been a first win this La Liga season in a pulsating 3-3 draw against Granada. The Columbian attacker bagged a first half hat trick to give the Rojiblancos a hefty lead at the break. Suarez had a total of 8 shot attempts to his credit with 4 on target and 3 finding their way into the back of the net. He also won 2 fouls and provided one accurate long ball in the game.

Ollie Watkins (CF) - 9.8

The chief tormentor in Aston Villa's demolishing of Brighton and Hove Albion. Watkins scored half of Villa's goals in a massive 6-1 thriller attempting 6 shots with 4 on target. He also assisted returning Jacob Ramsey for Villa's fifth and won one foul with a 70% pass accuracy.
